Invited by Fotomuseum of Den Haag this exhibition representing a cross-section of Hungarian
photography in the 20th century was organised by Péter Nádas as a guest-curator. Among well-known
names, like Robert Capa, Éva Besnyő, André Kertész, and Brassaï there are quite a lot not very
famous artists.
Nádas, who is not only a world-famous writer, but a trained photographer and worked for years as
report-photographer, compares his own photos with his selection from history of Hungarian
photography. He was focusing on photos and artists that had great effect on him and have parallel
with his photos taken in the 1950s and 60s.
The exhibition was organised within scope of Hungarian Cultural Year in Holland. Photos
representing history of Hungarian Photography was placed at the exhibition’s disposal by Hungarian
Museum of Photography.
