The book contains 150 original photographs made by Balázs Orbán in the years 1862–1868, during his travels in Székelyföld to illustrate the description of Székelyföld (a part of Transsylvania). The photographs are published together with engravings made of them. The photographs are supplemented by an introductory study by Lajos Erdélyi and a bibliography of Balázs Orbán.
